I grew up on Staten Island, New York. I was a pretty typical teenage metal/classic rock fan, although later on in high school I did develop an appreciation for Depeche Mode, The Cure, and other “alternative” bands, and that led to a large increase in my music listening. Dance music entered as well in the guise of what we used to call “guido music” stuff like Stevie B, The Covergirls, and other 80s classics!

In college a friend gave me a copy of The Orb’s first album and that, along with the first Autechre cd, made me realize that I wanted to make music like that. Along with some friends we made an album called “Magnetic North” on Hydrant Records, a label we started in the early 90s and that ran and put out some great stuff for a few years. My tracks were under the name Pala. You can find the stuff online if you look hard enough.

Next step was getting together with high school friend and we started making tracks. We used the name Ripple Effect. We wound up getting signed to a German label called Cosmic Playroom and they put out our album ‘Noise from the Fallen World’ which is on Spotify and all the other platforms I do believe.

Fast forward many years and I decided I wanted to start making tracks again. In early 2025 I fired up my imagination and dove back in. I wanted no boundaries, so if I feel like working on a dubby track, I’ll do so. If I think it’s time for some minimal techno, then that’s my direction. Ambient, house, whatever strikes my fancy. I like all of those genres so why shouldn’t I create in any of those if I feel inspired to? So that’s what I’m doing!
